Online Support Workers

While Spectrum Support Network takes great care to screen and select its Online Support Workers from prior backgrounds working or professionally educated in a similar capacity, we want to make it clear that Support Workers do not need qualifications. All experience is usually gained prior to becoming an Online Support Worker from previous roles or education, or they are trained to be an Online Support Worker on the job while working for Spectrum Support Network. The term 'Support Worker' in Australia does not legally require a formal qualification to perform the role, only training whilst on the job. To ensure our high standards are met, all sessions are recorded and at times may even have a trainer present on the session who will monitor only to ensure the quality of the working Online Support Worker. Therefore, although we take every measure to ensure that our Support Workers have the necessary skills, training and experience to provide online support, we cannot guarantee that they have formal qualifications as medical or healthcare professionals. When counsel is provided it is done so from the training provided or from prior experience. You also must be aware that the Online Support Workers may not all be working within Australia and could be overseas. That said ALL kids programs are run by OSW's residing in Australia ONLY and we have checked to the best of our ability the current status of their Australian WWCC (Working With Children Clearance). As stated on our homepage, an OSW could be anywhere in the world. However as stated, we only work with individuals with fluent English and do as many checks as available to ensure the skill, qualifications and experience of the OSW are up to our standards. The world is filled with professionals and we are lucky to have many of them working with Spectrum Support Network. By using our services, you acknowledge and accept that our Support Workers are trained to the best of our abilities and resources and may be in countries other than Australia though may not be qualified as a medical or healthcare professional and that their services are not intended to replace professional medical or therapeutic treatment, but to compliment them. You agree to use our services at your own risk and to consult a qualified professional if you have any concerns about your mental or physical health.
